ADP toasts deal with Adnams
10 March 2009: Adnams, the brewer, retailer and hotel chain, has chosen ADP to provide payroll and time and labour management for its 330 strong workforce. The company, which has been operating in Southwold in Suffolk for over 100 years, will be implementing ADP freedom on a managed service, alongside ezLaborManager to capture time and attendance data.
Adnams decided to outsource to ADP in order to have one supplier for both payroll/HR administration and time and labour management. ezLaborManager captures data live and ‘at source’, seamlessly updating this into the HR and Payroll system. The company had previously used two separate systems, forcing the payroll manager to enter the same information twice.
Added attractions were the range of reporting options, the possibility for cost savings and the fact that both ADP freedom and ezLaborManager are web native, therefore have no IT footprint. This takes the responsibility for maintenance and upgrades away from Adnams.
Adnams was aided in its decision by a visit to the Hard Rock International Corporate office in London, which has been using ADP freedom for a number of years. The visit enabled the HR team to witness the system in action in a similar environment to that at Adnams, which owns three hotels and nine Cellar&Kitchen Stores. Because ADP freedom and ezLaborManager are accessible from any location at any time, they are perfectly suited to use in a 24/7 business.
“While we had been served well by our previous payroll software since 1990, we felt it was time to upgrade to a more modern system,” commented Michael Ladd, HR Manager - Brewing & Brands at Adnams. “ADP impressed us with its sophisticated, comprehensive and user-friendly service and the visit to Hard Rock Café helped us see how it works in practice. We chose the managed service option as it takes the whole responsibility for payroll away, giving confidence that our employees are always paid accurately and on time.”
Don McGuire, Managing Director, ADP, commented: “The combination of ADP freedom and ezLaborManager provides the perfect solution for Adnams, offering a fully integrated, cost-effective and easy-to-use solution to running payroll effectively. The system ensures that no re-keying of data is required, eliminating possible human error, and gives Adnams the ease of working with one provider with regards to implementation, configuration, billing and customer support.”
