Nimax Theatres (UK) chooses ADP to stage payroll
5 February 2009: Nimax Theatres Limited, the owners and managers of five West End theatres, including the world famous Lyric, Apollo, Garrick, Vaudeville and Duchess, has chosen ADP Employer Services to run the payroll for its entire UK workforce. ADP will be providing its web-based ADP freedom solution along with its recently launched time and labour management service ezLaborManager, all set to go live in March 2009.
Nimax was seeking to improve its extremely complicated weekly payroll which it ran in house and made the decision to outsource so that it could improve accuracy and streamline processes, in order to simplify and automate its payroll as much as possible. The unusual requirement of the theatre industry, whereby staff costs need to precisely recharged to individual show productions each week, was also taking an unacceptable level of time to manually analyse - ezLaborManager will automatically produce reports for recharge purposes
ADP freedom and ezLaborManager impressed Nimax because they enable an end-to-end payroll process, with data input only once, at source and fed directly into the payroll system. Currently, data is input and transferred up to four times, which is very burdensome, especially as many staff are paid weekly. Nimax was also impressed by the clear analysis and pay data breakdown that ADP freedom promised, as well as the web native functionality which allows data to be input at any computer with web access.
“We were keen to find a solution that would bring simplicity and clarity to what is a very complex and time consuming payroll,” explains Finance Director Laurie Denton. “If we get our payroll wrong it can be costly and it not only strains our relationship with our employees but also our producers, so it is especially important to work with a company we can rely upon to manage the process effectively, from implementation through to day-to-day running. ADP shone out as the provider that could give us this service”, concludes Denton.
Don McGuire, Managing Director, ADP UK, commented: “Nimax theatres is the name behind some of the most iconic London theatres and houses world famous productions. There are a multitude of different staff behind the scenes that make these shows possible and ezLaborManager in conjunction with ADP freedom will ensure that the show can go on.”
