ADP's cost efficiencies help Richmond Housing charity build better homes
Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) is the largest social housing landlord in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Looking after more than 8,500 properties, RHP has invested over £70 million over 5 years installing 3,400 new kitchens, 3,400 new bathrooms and 2,500 new central heating systems for its residents. RHP's promise to provide affordable housing means that thousands of customers can enjoy a high standard of accommodation in an area where private housing costs have gone through the roof.
RHP came into existence in July 2000. Its housing stock used to be managed by the local Council but, when asked, the residents voted in favour of not-for- profit organisation, RHP, to look after them. As a registered charity, RHP has many obligations to fulfil and as a not-for-profit organisation must continually assess and improve its financial controls. One area that RHP has found makes better financial sense is to outsource its payroll management to ADP, the world's leading pay and employer services company. "Outsourcing is the most cost effective way for us to manage our payroll and it allows the organisation to concentrate on its core activities," says Jason Chinnery, Payroll Coordinator at RHP.
In 2000, RHP had a mix of weekly and monthly payrolls but soon realised that extra savings could be made if its entire staff could be encouraged to move over to the monthly payroll. "We're always looking for cost efficiencies so that more money can be put back into people's homes and communities while helping to keep rents low for the people that really need it, "commented Jason.
As part of RHP's rigorous audit procedures, ADP is periodically tested against other managed payroll services, but always stays on top.
Today, over 200 RHP staff are paid on time, every time, with ADP's managed service.
